FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY

Food Photography is not always easy...

Food photography is difficult because a lot of ad campaigns, don't use real food at all. Motor oil for honey, mashed potatoes instead of real ice cream.

Food coloring and poster paints to highlight colors. And that beautiful burger you always love? guess what, in between bread, cheese and patties are stiff cardboard sheets that hold everything in place, making your burger rich, full and yummy.

I am not saying this is a bad thing, most food campaigns always hire the services of a food stylist with the photographer.

However, I have been privileged to take photos of real food.

This may sound dramatic, but there is so much rush in taking pictures of real food, simply because when the food gets cold, it changes in appearance, food served hot continues to cook with the heat within the food.

So the photoshoot needs to be quick and perfect.

Here are some of the food photography I have had the privilege of shooting.

I have been also part of monthly campaigns like this one from Marco Polo, in partnership with a well known beer brand in the country.

I also love it that in Cebu, there are so many food parks popping just about everywhere. A few months ago I had the privilege of taking photos of food at the Atlantis Food Park in Liloan, Cebu.

I forgot to mention, the best thing about taking photos of real food is you get to eat them after the photoshoot.
